YORKSHIRE SYNCHRONISED SWIMMING NOVICE COMPETITION
1] This Competition is to be held in the Yorkshire County and will consist of Figures/Solos/Duets/ Teams or Combinations. 2] This will be a Recreational only Competition. A Skill Level 1 or Skill 2 swimmer who has swum Competitively previously in the Year of the Competition will be ineligible to enter this Competition. 3] There will be Two (2) Age Groups. Group a) A Minimum of 8 Yrs of age in the Year of the Competition to a Maximum of 10 Yrs of age in the Year of the Competition. Old Grade 2 or Skill Level 2 swimmers not accepted Group b ) A Minimum of 11 Yrs of age in the Year of the Competition to a Maximum of 13 Yrs of age in the Year of the Competition. Old Grade 3 or Skill Level 3 swimmers not accepted 4] All swimmers must be a member of an A.S.A. affiliated Club and have been a fully paid up member of that club for 60 days prior to the Competition Date. The Club must have been a fully paid up affiliated member of the A.S.A at least 90 days prior to the Competition. 5] In the case of Multi Club membership then the A.S.A. First Club Rule will apply. RULE 407 A.S.A 6] All swimmers will be required to enter the Figure Competition relating to their Age. 7] The top 8 Highest scoring swimmers in each Age Group will be invited to swim a Solo Routine in the Solo Routine Competition. 8] The top 6 Highest scoring Pairs of swimmers in each Age Group will be invited to swim a Duet Routine in the Duet Routine Competition . Duets pairs must be from the same Club and from the same Age Group. 9] A mixed Age Group Combination/Team Competition will also form part of the event. All Team/Combination Swimmers must have competed in their relevant Age Group Figure Competition. Clubs may enter more than one Combination/Team Routine. 10] A Swimmer may only swim in One (1) Duet in the Duet Competition, One (1) Solo in the Solo Competition and One (1) Combination/Team in the Combination/Team Competition. 11] Figure scores will be carried forward to Solos and Duets. Combinations/Teams no scores carried over. 12] Entry Forms must be in the hands of the Competition Organiser no later than 28 days prior to the Competition. 13] Should swimmers who have registered a Solo and/or a Duet and who have qualified to perform their Routine withdraw following the Figure Competition and after the Announcement of the qualifying Routines then the Routine Competition will proceed with the remaining selected Routines only. The only exception to this will be unforeseen illness/accident on the day of the Competition. 14] Selection for Solo Routines will not be below 12th position of the Figure Competition results. For Duets this will the 12th highest combined figure scores. 15] Withdrawals therefore from the Routine Competition must be made PRIOR to the Announcement of the qualifying routines. 16] Swimmers must register with the Chief Clerk of the Course 30 minutes prior to the start of the Competition. The start time will deemed to the commencement of the Warm Up session. 17] Competitors/Club Managers are responsible for handing their Music C.D or Tape Cassette to the Music Coordinator. All music must be correctly labelled as per A.S.A. guidelines and also registered with the A.S.A. 18] Swimmers MUST PRODUCE a Swimmers Log Book and their A.S.A. REGISTRATION CARD on the day of the Competition. If a Registration card is not produced on the day then it must be produced within 7 days to the Competition Organiser otherwise the swimmer will be disqualified. 19] Failure to produce an up to date Log Book on the day of the Competition will mean disqualification and they will NOT be allowed to swim. 20] For the Figure Competition all swimmers must wear a Black Figure Costume, White Swimming Cap without Logo and Preferably Goggles. 21 For the Routine Competitions costumes conforming to A.S.A RULES and in accordance with Synchronised Swimming National Competition Rules will be permitted. 22] No jewellery may be worn and any Cosmetics must be approved by the Referee prior to the Routine Competition commencing. 23] At the earliest opportunity following the closing date for entries a Draw will be held to decide the order of swim. This draw will be held by the Organiser and at least one other member of the Organising Committee. 24] The Organising Committee shall at its first meeting of the Year decide upon the Venue, Format of the Competition, Figures for each Age Group , Routine Times and any amendment to conditions deemed necessary.
25] The Figures for 2008 are :- Group a) 1 TUB 2 BENT KNEE (RIGHT LEG ) 3 FRONT LAYOUT 4 OYSTER Group b) 1 BALLET LEG (RIGHT LEG) 2 BACK TUCK SOMERSAULT 3 FRONT PIKE SOMERSAULT 4 NEPTUNUS 26] Routine Times for Both Groups 2008 are :- Solos 2mins +/- 15 secs to include a maximum of 10 secs deckwork Duets 2mins 30secs +/- 15 secs to include a maximum of 10secs deckwork Combinations 3mins +/- 15 secs to include a maximum of 10 secs deckwork Teams n/a. 27] All music to be on C.D. and only one Routine per C.D. A Tape cassette back up is also required for each Routine. 28] Music Cue sheets fully completed must be handed to the Music Coordinator at the Commencement of the Routine Events. The Music Cue Sheets must NOT be sent direct to the A.S.A.. 29] Normal penalties will be incurred for numbers less than 8 in a Team. 30] For Routine events the walk-on and setting up time commences when the First Competitor passes the starting point and ends when the last competitor becomes stationary. The walk on/setting up time shall not exceed 30 seconds. The starting point will be deemed to be the Top Corner of the poolside at the deep end. 31] The Figure/Routine events all carry point towards the Millennium Cup 1st place 6 points, 2nd place 5 points, 3rd place 4 points, 4th place 3points, 5th place 2 points, 6th place 1 point. These point will be carried forward to the Yorkshire Junior/Senior Competition. 32] Where Clubs from another County/Region take part they will not Qualify for the Millennium Cup. 33] Yorkshire Trophies/Medals will only be awarded to Yorkshire Swimmers/Clubs. 34] The John Naylor Trophy will be awarded to the Highest Scoring Yorkshire Combination/Team. 35] Existing Yorkshire Trophies which were previously awarded in the Yorkshire Grade1/Grade 2 Competition will be awarded in this Competition for the appropriate event. Medals will be awarded as usual i.e. Gold, Silver ,Bronze. 36] PENALTIES Penalties will be awarded as per Technical Rules for Synchronised Swimming 2008 Rules 719 to 720.4.2 inclusive. Should a Routine time be +/- 30 seconds of the stated time then the Routine will be disqualified. 37] ENTRIES 37.1] All Figure entries on Yellow entry forms showing if a solo is entered.( Please do not use Technical Solo Forms ) 37.2] All Duet entries on Blue forms ( Please do NOT use Technical Duet Forms ) Please mark as Group a or b Dependant on Age Group. 37.3] All Combination/Team entries on Pink forms (Please do not use Technical Team Forms0 37.4] If downloading forms please ensure that you use the correct form for the Figure Age Group. 8-10 11-13 Duet and Team 37.5] Please also print the return of information sheet on the reverse of the relevant entry form, Not on a separate sheet. 38] ALL ENTRIES IN TRIPLICATE WITH THE FEES. 38.1] FEES ARE £5.00p PER SWIMMER FOR FIGURES. THIS INCLUDES THE DUET ENTRY. 38.2] FEES FOR COMBINATIONS/TEAMS ARE £15.00p per routine 38.3} ENTRIES FROM CLUBS. NO INDIVIDUAL ENTRIES 38.4} ALL ENTRY MUST BE FILLD IN CORRECTLY WITH ALL DETAILS AND SIGNED BY THE CLUB SECRETARY AND COMPETITOR OR PARENT OF COMPETITOR. ANY INCORRECT ENTRY FORM WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. 39] All entries to be in the hands of the Organiser not less than 28 FULL days prior to the Competition. Closing date Midnight FRIDAY AUGUST 22nd 2008 NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE EXCEPTED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES AND FEES MUST ACCOMPANY ENTRY FORMS. FAILURE TO OBSERVE THESE CONDITIONS WILL MEAN THE ENTRY/IES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. 40 ANY ENTRY NOT ACCOMPANIED BY THE CORRECT FEE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. 41 Although this Competition is not a Championship Competition Entry forms must have the Date the Swimmer joined the club they represent filled in.
