DSE Open Short Course Swimming Championships 2011 Ponds Forge International Sports Centre, Sheffield 26th/27th November 2011
This competition is open to swimmers classified S1-15.

Yorkshire based swimmers honoured at the FDSO sports awards The Federation of Disability Sports Organisations held their annual Sports Awards Ceremony at the Centenary Pavilion, Leeds Utd FC on Friday 15th July 2011. Swimming featured heavily across the categories with 18 individual nominees of both swimmers and coaches and the ASA being nominated twice in the organisations list. The focus on the awards was the achievements of all the nominees, with the following swimming representatives been nominated in one or more of the categories:

The strength of the regions swimmers shone throughout the evening with several coming highly commended and four winners taking home individual awards.
Young Achiever (girl) – Chloe Selman, Adwick ASC & Doncaster Dartes Young Achiever (boy) - Ben Sweeney, Edlington ASC Sportswoman of the Year- Claire Cashmore, City of Leeds SC Sportsman of the Year- James Crisp, City of Sheffield Swim Squad
Chris Armstrong, Regional Development Officer for Disability Swimming collected the Sportsman of the Year award on behalf of James Crisp and later commented, “The talent of the nominees across all the sports was clearly evident here tonight. For the regions swimmers to take these four individual awards is a real credit to their commitment and that of their coaches.”

Below is a calendar of disability specific events, this is not an exclusive list as other pathways are available but the main competitions for the British swimming pathway are in the first column, the highlighted competitions are the ones at which swimmers can gain consideration times for the Home Nation Regional Talent and World Class programmes.
