There are currently 8 Centres within the Yorkshire area that provide training in Synchronised Swimming.

Synchronised Swimming is in its easiest description “One or more swimmers swimming in synchronisation to music and each other”.  This swimming to music may be done as a Solo, as two swimmers as a Duet or as three or more swimmers up to a maximum of eight as a Team.

There are 5 Skill Levels for Competitive Swimmers and  Grade Levels for Recreational Swimmers. Swimmers may hold both Skill levels and Recreational Grade Levels. There are Competitions currently at County Level, Regional Level and National Level.

Clubs are to be found in Bradford, Barnsley, Leeds, Grimsby and Halifax.

Some clubs are run by Local Authority Leisure Services and some are independently run. All have to be affiliated to the Amateur Swimming Association and therefore are covered by the A.S.A. Rules regarding Child Protection, Safety and Qualified instruction in the sport.
