The County of Yorkshire together with North and North East Lincolnshire had a population of 4,976,200 at the last census. The Yorkshire Swimming Association (YSA) is the principal organising and regulatory body for aquatic sport in the County. On 18th October 2003 the area was extended to include the administrative areas of North and North East Lincolnshire. YSA looks after the interest of swimmers, divers, synchronized swimmers, and water polo athletes and organises disability events. All Aquatic Clubs in the geographic area must affiliate to (and observe the laws of) the Amateur Swimming Association (ASA), and Clubs in the county do this by affiliating to the North Eastern Region of the ASA (ASA NER). The affairs of YSA are run in line with the constitution and Rules and controlled by the Board. They are supported by technical Committee Secretaries for the major branches of the sport, all of whom are elected each year at the AGM. Proceedings of the Board are minuted. Nominations for any position as Officer or Executive Member are welcomed from members of affiliated Clubs. To contact YSA you should email the Honorary Secretary, David Alexander, secretary@yorkshireswimming.org The Annual General meeting (AGM) is the forum for the member Clubs to question the elected Officers and Board from the previous year, and to elect new ones. Volunteers to help with the administration of the Association are welcome. Any members of YSA affiliated Clubs may attend - and each Club may nominate in advance one delegate to speak and vote on its behalf.
